Today was a pretty successful day I think. It looked like it would rain today when we left the house, and right as we got to the office it started pouring for 45 minutes straight. After a half hour of down pour I had a 15 minute walk to get to school. So right when I got there it stopped, but I was completely soaked. Before I went to class I tracked down the English teacher and got the S1 book. Then I had about 15 minutes to throw a lesson plan together, but it was a million times better than yesterday. It is still difficult because there are 80 kids, so it is hard to say whether the material is going straight over their heads or not, but whatcha gonna do.

After my class I had 1 ½ break, so I corrected papers, talked with the teacher again, then headed back to the village for lunch. I had just enough time to eat and run. The headmaster found me before classes started and told me I had been promoted. Not only will I be teaching S1 and S2 English, but S3 and S4 as well. That means I am the English teacher at the school now. Lucky lucky me. SO I have to be at the school tomorrow at 9am-10:20 to teach S3, then S2 from 10:30-11:20, and then S4 from 2:00-3:20. It will be a full day. I have to make up all the lesson plans tonight (homework-yuck L). And get up really early (it’s a 45 minute walk to the school from home) which I am NOT excited about. Lord help those children. Thankfully though, tomorrow will be the end of my teaching week and then Thursday and Friday we are doing HIV testing and counseling (I won’t be doing the testing. I made sure everyone was well aware that Stacie + blood/needles=not a good combination).
