Today I woke up to the sound of rain beating on the tin roof-so I went back to
sleep. People aren’t kidding when they say nothing gets started in Africa until
the rain stops (I think it is like St. Helens and the snow ). After it stopped
the sun came out and it was actually a really beautiful day.
We walked to work and dropped off Joe at the hospital again on the way to the
office. I finished all my research for my seminar on ‘Positive Living’
presentation, and what I would like to do now is make visuals to go along with
it and translate some of it so people will understand what is going on, but I
don’t know if that is in our means.
After that Festus had me type up the “VOLSET Annual 2006 Report” which would
have been fine, except the power went out half way through (luckily I was
constantly saving it, because I figured something like that would happen) so I
had to wait a couple hours before I could finish it (the office really really
needs a generator).
After lunch I decided to tackle the VOLSET Resource Library (which was a ton of
books, pamphlets, magazines, and stray papers haphazardly shoved onto a bunch of
shelves). It took me a good 4 hours but I did it! I’m actually pretty proud of
myself, I wasn’t sure it was possible.
Me and Joe at the office (when I decided to organize the library and I am
sorting out all the materials)
Tomorrow (and this weekend hopefully) I am going to start filming and taking
pictures around the village. We are also supposed to paint the house, and I am
supposed to go to the secondary school to sit in on the English class again.
Should be a hoot.
