
Brook Trout
(Salvelinus fontinalis)
A species of char even though it is called a trout. Coloration is what separates the char from salmon and trout. Char have light markings on a darker body background.
Brook Trout colors vary, but predominately have a dark green back with red colored sides, and a white underside. The irregular markings on their back are yellow. Pink spots with blue rings adorn their sides.
