The Brown Trout
(Salmo trutta)

A very important game fish. Because of the sport they offer to fishermen, they have been introduced into new areas all over the world.

Brown Trout vary in appearance and size. Their back is dark brown with has a light yellow underside. It is sprinkled with large dark spots that have a halo of blue-gray.

The Cannibal Trout is a larger version that lurks in deep lake waters. The Sea Trout is a Brown Trout that has migrated to the ocean.
